At True Ambassadors, we believe that food has a special way of bringing people together, breaking barriers, and fostering a sense of belonging. As an independent charitable organisation, our mission is to support and empower individuals through community-driven initiatives that encourage learning, connection, and inclusion.
One of our favourite ways to do this is through Tasty Tuesday. It is a monthly event where residents cook, share traditions, and enjoy time together.
This Tuesday, we explored Filipino cuisine. Our residents prepared a delicious traditional noodle dish, and everyone had fun making their own omelettes.
The Filipino noodle dish was made with fish balls, tofu, cabbage, onions, garlic, carrots, and pea shoots, and of course, noodles. The result was a meal full of rich flavours and vibrant colours, enjoyed by everyone.
At the omelette station, creativity was the key ingredient. Each participant chose their favourite fillings, making the experience both fun and personal. It was lovely to see everyone experimenting and sharing their cooking tips with one another.
The evening was made even more special as we celebrated the birthday of one of our residents, filling the room with warmth, laughter, and, of course, cake!
For those who preferred to watch rather than cook, we provided tablets so they could practise what they had learned in our digital inclusion class. This gave them a great opportunity to reinforce their skills while still being part of the lively atmosphere.
After the cooking, the energy shifted to the dance floor, where everyone let loose and enjoyed some music. We were also happy to welcome Lily from the Joy Team, who shared information about their programmes and the support they offer.
At True Ambassadors, we do more than organise events. We create opportunities for people to connect, learn, and feel included. Tasty Tuesday is a perfect example of how simple moments can bring joy and strengthen our community. We can’t wait for the next one!
