On 15 November 2024, our independent UK charity organisation was honoured to attend a special community event. The event welcomed the newly elected MP for West Ham and Beckton, Rt. Hon. James Asser. It offered an excellent opportunity to showcase our work and focus on building partnerships that address local challenges and improve the lives of residents. It also marked the beginning of a positive relationship with the MP and his team.
Community leaders, local organisations, and residents came together to discuss key issues affecting West Ham and Beckton. Rt. Hon. James Asser shared his vision for the area and emphasised the importance of collaboration in overcoming these challenges.
True Ambassadors highlighted its projects, including the newly launched Digital Inclusion Programme. This programme, supported by funding from Newham Council, helps residents improve their digital skills. We also shared updates on our health and wellbeing sessions, which provide practical knowledge and activities to increase the community’s overall quality of life.
We are deeply grateful to Councillor Lakmini Shah and Canon Father Fred Ashford-Okai, the first Flying Officer for the Royal Air Force Air Cadets. They organised this event and their dedication was evident throughout. Special thanks also go to Madam Abosede Agbesanwa, Assistant Governor of the East London District and Community and Vocational Chair of the Rotary Club Stratford, for her support in providing us with a platform to showcase our work.
