Community Empowerment through Environmental Initiatives

True Ambassadors Health and Wellbeing Event: A Day to Remember

On 17th September 2024, our independent charitable organisation, True Ambassadors, hosted an inspiring Health and Wellbeing event as part of the People Power Places Project. This event brought together local residents, community leaders, and inspiring figures to promote community empowerment through environmental initiatives. The focus extended beyond physical health to emphasise the well-being of the planet. The highlight of the day was the presence of the extraordinary Dr Honey Kalaria and the talented Tweng Tweng, who introduced the Everybody Plant a Tree initiative.

The Everybody Plant a Tree initiative is a global environmental movement under the umbrella of the International Children’s Peace Network (ICPN) and the Rotary Club of London. It encourages individuals, families, and communities to plant trees in a bid to foster peace, environmental sustainability, and social harmony.

Dr Honey Kalaria and Tweng Tweng brought extra energy to the event with their unique reggae rap dance track. The song is not just catchy. It is a fundraising tool to support the ICPN’s broader mission of using environmental action to inspire peace. The track spreads a message of how small acts, like planting a tree, can make a big difference. It highlights how these actions impact both the environment and the world we share.

At the event, locals had the chance to connect with this global movement. Dr Kalaria spoke passionately about how something as simple as planting a tree can help build a greener, more peaceful world. This helped participants realise that their small efforts could contribute to tackling bigger issues like climate change and environmental destruction.

The event also offered a calming and creative flower-arranging session, which was a hit. It brought a sense of peace, helping everyone relax and connect with nature. It was a beautiful way to remind us of the healing power of nature and how small, mindful activities can make a big difference to our well-being.

The day wasn’t just about having fun. The participants were able to build stronger community ties and make meaningful connections, all while learning how they can contribute to a better world. True Ambassadors is incredibly grateful to Dr Honey Kalaria, Tweng Tweng, the volunteers and everyone who took part in this event, making the day truly special.

We’re proud to have teamed up with the International Children’s Peace Network and the Rotary Club of London. Together, we’re working to make our communities healthier, happier, and greener.

If you missed this event, don’t worry! True Ambassadors will continue hosting activities that empower individuals and bring communities closer.
