On 24th September 2024, our independent charitable organisation, True Ambassadors, hosted another memorable session as part of our “Health and Wellbeing for All” project. This initiative is part of the broader People, Powered, Places programme, which gives Newham residents the opportunity to actively shape and improve their local community. Like every Tuesday, it was held at the Plaistow Community Centre.
The day was filled with creativity, relaxation, and a sense of togetherness, leaving everyone feeling uplifted. The session was particularly special. We celebrated the birthday of one of our beloved residents, bringing the community even closer. The festive atmosphere created a truly joyful space, reminding everyone of the strong bonds we share at True Ambassadors.
Throughout the day, residents had the opportunity to take part in a calming colouring practice using mindfulness books. This simple yet helpful exercise gave everyone a chance to slow down, focus, and let the stress of daily life drift away. The colouring activity allowed residents to express themselves creatively while finding peace in the moment.
We also offered a massage session to help ease any physical tension our residents may have been carrying. The soothing effects of the massage left everyone feeling refreshed and relaxed, making it a rejuvenating experience for all involved.
This session is a true reflection of our “Health and Wellbeing for All” project. It aims to provide a safe and supportive space for our residents to connect, relax, and take care of their mental and physical well-being. Over the past few months, we have seen the transformative power of these sessions. Many of our residents have shared how much they look forward to these moments.
One of our residents shared, “These meetings give us a chance to come together and forget about the stresses of life for a while. It’s such a relief to have a place where we can relax and connect with one another.”
At True Ambassadors we remain dedicated to promoting the health and happiness of our community. We are really proud to continue offering these valuable sessions. We believe these moments of connection and care make a real difference in the lives of our residents.
As we look ahead, we’re excited about the future of the “Health and Wellbeing for All” project. We know there are many more special moments waiting to be shared, and we’re eager to continue building on the success of these sessions. If you’d like to be part of this journey—whether by attending a session, volunteering, or supporting us in other ways—we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can continue creating opportunities for relaxation, healing, and, most importantly, a stronger, more connected community.
