On Tuesday, 12th November 2024, we welcomed Adalberto, Carlos, and Sebastian from VitalFit Fitness and Wellness Centre. They joined us for a session on the power of fitness and how it can help fight diabetes. Their visit came just days before World Diabetes Day on 14th November, a global campaign to highlight the growing challenge of diabetes and how prevention strategies like regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle can make all the difference.
Diabetes affects millions around the world, but it’s often manageable with simple changes. Exercise, for example, helps the body use insulin more effectively, supports healthy weight management, and lowers the risk of complications. This session was all about inspiring our attendees to see fitness as a key step towards better health.
Adalberto began the session with an engaging discussion on human anatomy. He explained the structure of the body, the functions of key muscle groups, and the benefits of proper muscle care. Participants were introduced to different massage techniques. Under Adalberto’s guidance, they practised these techniques on each other, discovering how massage can ease muscle tension, boost blood flow, and reduce stress. It was a fun and practical way to explore an important aspect of self-care.
In the second part of the session, Carlos and Sebastian introduced everyone to EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) training. This innovative approach uses gentle electrical impulses to stimulate muscle contractions. It offers a fresh way to build strength and improve fitness.
VitalFit’s EMS training stands out because it works opposing muscle groups at the same time, reaching deeper muscles that are often overlooked in regular workouts. The technology ensures a full muscle contraction, which leads to more effective and balanced results. Carlos and Sebastian explained that just one 20-minute EMS session can provide the same benefits as two hours in the gym. For busy people, this time-saving method is a game-changer.
The session became even more special as the community came together to celebrate the birthday of one of our long-standing members, Eleanor. Having been with us since the very beginning, Eleanor’s support has been invaluable. To mark her special day, we shared cake, exchanged heartfelt wishes, and created a joyful atmosphere that brought everyone closer together.
As a UK independent charity organisation, True Ambassadors is committed to creating opportunities that help our community thrive. We’re so grateful to Adalberto, Carlos, and Sebastian for sharing their time, knowledge, and enthusiasm with us. This session wasn’t just informative—it was a chance for everyone to connect, try something new, and take a meaningful step towards better health.
As Adalberto said, “We’re happy to be able to serve the community.” That sentiment resonates deeply with us. Moments like these remind us of the power of collaboration and the importance of working together to create lasting change.
