From AI to Stress Relief: Highlights from Our Latest Digital Inclusion Session

This week, our Digital Inclusion Project brought the community together once again for a session full of hands-on learning and engaging discussions. Held on December 17th, the event helped participants build confidence in using digital tools.

We were excited to welcome Emily Lewis from iFoundMe Counselling as our guest speaker. Emily introduced us to the fascinating world of artificial intelligence (AI) and showed how it’s woven into our lives in ways we often overlook. She helped the group explore common misconceptions and prejudices about AI, encouraging open and honest discussions. She also showed participants how to use voice search with hands-on practice, making it easier for them to navigate their devices with confidence.

Throughout the session, participants had the chance to practice with the tablets we provided, building their confidence in using digital tools. As always, there was plenty of time for questions and personal guidance, ensuring everyone felt supported.

Health and wellness were also a key part of the day. Shein Macques shared his insights on how to help the body cope with stress, including the surprising benefits of eating berries. He spoke about the causes of high blood pressure and how even small activities, like bouncing, can make a big difference for the lymphatic system. The group also learned about natural supplements like Reishi and Ashwagandha, which Shein explained can help bring balance and resilience to the body.

We were honoured to host special guests from Newham Council’s Digital Inclusion Team—Muireann, Shibu, and Natasha, who joined the session to see the project in action and meet the community. Their visit was a reminder of the power of collaboration and how partnerships can create lasting impact on the community.
